6 Gpus on Asrock Fatal1ty B250 GAMING K4

$

- Hi guys, I recently bought the parts to build 4 rigs with the following config each one.:

- Mobo Asrock Fatal1ty B250 GAMING K4
- 6 RX 470 4Gb. Different assemblers.
- 4GB Corsair Vengeance 2133
- Celeron G3900
- Windows 10 x64p

- For now, I've only been able to make the system recongnize 5 GPUs, but no luck with the sixth one. Even that the system is totally unsatable, some time only recognizes 4 GPUs.

- I would like to know if anyone in the forum has found a solution or have encounter this problem. I actually found a threat here that mention this MOBO but anything else. Essentially I have this situation but for some reason I believe I'am the only one who cant make all 6 GPUs work.

- I also found this but it's the same.

Anyone? Thanks in advance.

ASUS 250 Mining Expert Motherboard issues

I purchased the above to replace a Gigabyte z170-ud5 th which had fussy pcie slots thinking it would simplify things, how wrong I was. The board has some nice ideas but it feels like betaware bios software rushed out before being ready to compete with Biostar/Asrock

Issue 1 - memory slots cheap looking and very tight fitting
Issue 2 - Will only boot with one slot populated with 8GB Corsair 3200MHz, filling both slots and it won't even attempt to boot, thought it was dead, removing second stick of RAM resolves issue, worked fine in old mobo
Issue 3 - Turning Mining Bios off or setting RAM memory settings manually causes POST to repetidly to fail, only way to POST is to set optimize defaults which also re-enables mining mode
Issue 4 - refuses to recognise more than 1 GPU on usb 3 risers (VOO7s)
Issue 5 - Manual very basic, even online is poor, the embedded QR codes in manual reference wrong motherboard sub-manuals
Issue 6 - No onboard error codes displayed, you need old world speaker beep codes, took me a day without pluging pcie mobo tester to find out it didn't like my RAM

Good points

1- supports 19 slots
2- usefull pre-diagnostic display of pcie slots in bios splash screen when booting, wont tell you what error is if any though
3 - can support 3 psu coonections if they work?- I have evo 1300w and 650w which appear to be working (fan spinning, card lighting up)
4 - could be 15% faster with single card when used with this mobo as opposed to old z170 board, could be chance?

So beta AMD drivers and what feels like beta bios software on motherboard = not good combination.

May have to send it back which is a shame since I wanted so much to like it.

MSI RADEON RX-580 : Low Hashrate Problem | Out of Box 20.81MH/s

Hello everyone,

I know I'm very late to the party, but I thought it might be a good idea still to get going with Ethereum and start with a small rig.

I put the rig together using:

Asus z270f Strix Motherboard
6 x MSI Radeon RX 580 (As I kept reading it was one of the best picks for higher hashrate)
4 GB RAM | Dual Core Processor | SSD 120GB
Windows 10 Pro

After editing the motherboard bios, was finally able to have all 6 cards recognized, however afterburner refused to recognize any of the cards or show temperature etc unless one card had the HDMI connected.

Even after trying different drivers from 16.9 to current 17.6.2 AMD Radeon, the out of box hashrate was coming out to be:

Using Geth and Ethminer (currently tried solo mining just to test out speed)

20.81 MH/s per card

Went forward to modding the bios one by one:
After downloading ATIWinFlash, saving the bios, modding using Polaris and copying the straps from 1:1750 to 1:2000, the hashrate remains at 20.81 MH/s

Have tried using Wattman in AMD settings as well as Afterburner only to find if I increase or decrease Memory clock from 2000Mhz even by a little, my hashrate goes down to 18 MH/s.

I have searched the forum everywhere to look for a similar issue but ended up just finding errors I got along my way here.
I have read a lot that these cards have a lot more potential and I really would like to push them if I could.
I would really like if someone who went through the same or has any clue as to why this is happening, could help out. Thanks in advance!

HI Everyone,

I have modded my bios on my cards(Hynix) and used the following straps -

777000000000000022AA1C00B56A6D46C0551017BE8E060C006AE6000C081420EA8900AB030000001B162C31C0313F17

I get 28Mhs with 2000 memory speed but I get memory errors when I clock higher!

Here are my settings and I dual mining with DCR -

-tstop 85,85,85,85,85,85,85,85
-tt 69,69,69,69,69,69,69,69
-fanmin 40,40,40,40,40,40,40,40
-fanmax 100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100
-cclock 1200,1200,1200,1200,1200,1200,1200,1200
-mclock 2000,2000,2000,2000,2100,2100,2000,2000
-cvddc 970,970,970,970,970,970,970,970
-mvddc 950,950,950,950,950,950,950,950

Note the ones set at 2100 as XFX cards and run fine and give me 29 as shown below -

ETH - Total Speed: 224.864 Mh/s, Total Shares: 14, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:04
ETH: GPU0 24.495 Mh/s, GPU1 28.162 Mh/s, GPU2 28.169 Mh/s, GPU3 28.179 Mh/s, GPU4 29.751 Mh/s, GPU5 29.754 Mh/s, GPU6 28.179 Mh/s, GPU7 28.176 Mh/s

Is there a better strap or bios I can use ?

Many thanks

Lee

electromagnetic radiation and mining

didn't see anywhere this mentioned, so... I noticed that wifi quality is extremely low or even totally gone while I'm near my eth farm. Even 3G/4G sucks.
Also, if I mine with a single card in a open case computer very near my wifi router, wifi signal from that router is very short ranged than and pour quality for all my devices. I'm talking meters here. So I would assume all those gpus pilled up (about 20 of them, open shelve) working hard, produce some kind of a electromagnetic radiation?

anyone with similar experiences? I do have some health concerns, what do you think?

vega fe- confirmation needed

I appear to have recently found a decent boost by accident but need confirmation what I'm seeing is repeatable.

I'm getting 40MH/3GH DCR using the following settings. (single card setup) (actually there is a second but its a 1080ti)

Core 1462/900
mem 1100/900
power 50%
custom water cooled
max 40c

how ever this is the bit that changes it from 36 ish MH to 40MH

System ram running at 3066MHz!!!

If I run the system ram at anything other than 3066MHz II dont get the good perf.

Now I expect this is the hbmc being enabled (although I cant tell if its even on as wattman is hidden (not tried 17.10 yet))

but what I'm unsure about is why that speed on the ram.

mine is quad channel and with xmp its set at 3333 but I can lower this in the bios to 3066 and this enabled the vega fe speeds up...like wtf!

so if anyone else can check if they have the ability to set their system mem to 3066 do you also see a speed up? maybe there is a better setting, let me know what you find.

Boysie

note: dropped it a little in speed to 39.3/2.95 for stability

Claymore's miner ETH fee removed (Win 64bit only)

$

Hello everybody. I would like to share with you my program that will help you get more ETH with Claymore miner.

Now back to Claymore..

**Features:**
-Removes fees from miner hence improves your hashrate
-Autorestart when miner dies
-Autokill other miners which could be blocking your miner

**Limitations:**
-Works only for ethermine.org and nanopool.org
-Works only on Windows 64bit
-Works only on Claymore 10.0
-You won't get all fees

The "ethical" issue of this thing..
If you have problem with this and you think this modification is not ethical. I have to say if Claymore didn't make milions dollars monthly of your 1-2% fees I would have agreed but in this case NO I don't think this is problem.
I doubt he could even notice! Why? Well I left a debug feature for people just like you this feature shows Claymore's wallets and show them in your miner console. So you can check his wallets and see for yourself how many bitcoins he make daily.
He has many wallets on many pools here is just one of them there is maybe 30+ of these you can look them up yourself. https://etherscan.io/address/0xc1c427cd8e6b7ee3b5f30c2e1d3f3c5536ec16f5

**FAQ:**

**1. Is it scam? virus?**
No. You can upload the exe to virustotal.com yourself its clean.

**2. How does it works?**
This program starts miner process and monitor it. Precisely it monitors wallets on which fees are sent.
You can set your startup arguments as well as your payout wallet for fees in config file there is no need for .bat files or other scripts.

**3. How to use it?**
Place this exe into same folder where you have Claymore miner and run it. It will create a default config for first run so you can test immediately and see if it works. Let it run for 15 minutes and wait for first dev fee.

**4. How do I know it works?**
Best way to use it is to use same wallet for normal mining and for fees but set a worker fo your standard payout as for fees you cant set a worker it has to be "default" or "x" worker.
Simply when your miner starts mining fee and find a share you should see on your pool stats "default" or "x" worker submited x amount of shares.

**5. Why did you do this?**
I made it for my own use because I wanted to try if its possible or how hard it would be. It turned out to be doable so I did it and used it for few days myself and then I decided I would share it.
I have rewrote it to make it useable for all users and make their mining easier. I have added about 60% code to check for stupid things users may do and much better error handling to ensure your mining will be absolutely flawless.

**6. You wont get all fees?!**
Yes you won't get everything initially. I wanted to sell this program first for little donation but over time it started to look like a worse idea. The main issue was that noone want to buy some random program which claims to do xy.
It would mean that I would have to personally persuade each person to send me a little donation and thats simply not worth those 5-10 dollars I initally wanted. Not at all. So I would take some of these developer fees which you wouldn't get anyway.

**7. So what do you get?**
You will get more the longer you mine. Here is small table with what I get.
Basically to be honest I want just a little something I dont want to rob you especially if you like this program I want you to use it and profit from it most so in the end I would get one session daily that is 36/72 seconds based on what you mine.

Mine < 2 days = each 5th fee session is on me.
Mine > 2 days = each 10th fee session is on me.
Mine > 6 days = each 15th fee session is on me.
Mine > 13 days = each 20th fee session is on me.

This program show you in real time how many fees were saved and how much time it saved you.
Now its good time to ask how much mining time you actually lose to Claymore when using it.

When you mine just ETH you lose 36*24/60 = 14.4mim (daily)
When you dual mine you lose 72*24/60 = 28.8mim (daily)

For fist day of using you should get atleast additional 12.5min when mining just ETH and 25min when dual mining.
NOTE: These numbers are not accurate they are an estimate it yould be off -+10% I chose this values for better readability.

**8. Where can I get it?**

Hi
After Claymore Eth miner ran for 2 days, I got the following error and the system rebooted. I got this error earlier also.

First it says : Got incorrect temperature 511, ignore
Then : WATCHDOG: GPU 3 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
Lastly : OC v7, Reset control for GPU 0, close miner right now if you want to use default control from Catalyst

Can you please suggest what is needed to be done to resolve this. ?
I have stock settings, no overclocking or undervolting etc.

Thanks in advance!

First post, long time lurker
How do you calculate total CFM of air cooling needed for your rigs? Admittedly, In January, my rigs need 2000cfm, but in July they need 11k CFM. And July heat is only 3 weeks. Do you just undrclock for that short summer period? Or go all out and install an 11k CFM system even tho on an annual basis you need an average of 6k?

Thanks

Geth GPU support is coming soon, in the meantime, the C++ miner is out.
The purpose of this thread is to post GPU results, not CPU.

First, install the client:
https://github.com/ethereum/cpp-ethereum/wiki/Installing-clients

Second, run eth -M -G
Of course, you'll need a GPU for this to work. Use --opencl-device 0 if Eth is not identifying your OCL device properly

Third, post your results!

The format is:

OS / OS version / GPU / Eth Version
min / mean / max: xx / xx / xx
Inner mean: xx.xxxx MH

Please post everything in MH.
Please do not post questions etc as they will be removed.

Update:
14/05/15 - corrected typo on opencl, clarified thread rules

What counts as a stable overclock/card in terms of the variance in the hashrate?

e.g. a 1070 might hash at 28.4 but will drop down sometimes to by 1 Mhs to 27.3 and very occassionally might drop down by 3 mhs to 25.3.

Is that 1070 stable?
