Rig porn - post your pics!

There is a serious lack of rig porn on this forum! I just spent a few hours getting one of my stubborn R9 290 cards up and running. Ended up having to make a custom BIOS for it to get it to stop crashing the drivers or whole computer, but at least this rig is back to 5 cards! Will move it back to the mining building tomorrow if it stays stable.

5x Sapphire R9 290 Reference Cards
ASRock H81 Pro BTC Motherboard
USB risers
2x PSU (Antec 1300W Plat and Corsair HX850 Gold)
Some 2x1s, cheap metal racks, glue and screws
138MH/s total
Total cost... I don't remember, they've paid themselves off several times tho!

Let's see your rig! Nothing too shameful to post - those 6 card rigs haphazardly arranged on your desk are just as good =p.

so how much do you pay claymore?

so I worked out a way to trap it stop it and calculate it and I'm a bit surprised.

I've tested both solo and pool

in a pool u get approx. 97.9% claymore gets 2.1% of shares. (avg between blocks)

solo got me silly though.

over the last 20 blocks, 2 went to claymore......SAY WHAT!!

not reveling how but a little gobsmacked at this.

also found claymore wallets not sure I should release though, he does amazing work and happy to pay some but not 10% but them wallets mean he can afford a lot of coders

food for thought.

Is there a flash for the single fan 470 available?

Ethereum solo mining proxy - track rigs, hashrate

Hey guys, I just pushed my mining proxy to https://github.com/sammy007/ether-proxy

Now it's easy to control your rigs if you are solo mining ETH using web frontend. Track hashrate, rejects, etc. Also, there is daemon failover option indeed.

If you found my work useful, feel free to send a sip of ether to 0xb85150eb365e7df0941f0cf08235f987ba91506a. Enjoy.

XFX Radeon RX 480 WTF?

I'm running these cards with the part number 'RX-480P8DFA6" and I am having some wild temperature issues.

Wile mining the temps fluctuate between 68C and 78C wile mining for no apparent reason. And I mean one card might be at 68 wile another is at 78. I got some IC Diamond thermal paste to try and drop the temps 2 degrees but when I took one of the GPU's apart I realized it wasn't going to help because the heat sync is sh!t. Polished... No, it looks like some one dragged a comb threw a piece of clay.

Is anyone else having these issues with these cards?

Thanks

GPU Mining is out, come and let us know of your bench scores!

**This thread is for benchmark results only - post questions in other threads**

Geth GPU support is coming soon, in the meantime, the C++ miner is out.
The purpose of this thread is to post GPU results, not CPU.

First, install the client:
https://github.com/ethereum/cpp-ethereum/wiki/Installing-clients

Second, run eth -M -G
Of course, you'll need a GPU for this to work. Use --opencl-device 0 if Eth is not identifying your OCL device properly

Third, post your results!

The format is:

OS / OS version / GPU / Eth Version
min / mean / max: xx / xx / xx
Inner mean: xx.xxxx MH

Please post everything in MH.
Please do not post questions etc as they will be removed.

Update:
14/05/15 - corrected typo on opencl, clarified thread rules

Found these for sale on ebay. The seller specifically points out that it has 3 capacitors instead of 2 and that it has a voltage regulator on board. I see lots of other versions with 3 capacitors but none that have the little voltage regulator. Does this actually make a difference?

ETH vs. XMR: Which one is more profitable?

$

I've been following up on the prices of both ETH and XMR these past few weeks. A few days ago ETH was at around €10 per 1 ether, while 1 XMR was at around €7. However, the difficulty of ETH is much higher than XMR.

Would it not be more profitable to mine XMR under these circumstances? next to the price, what does make a cryptocurrency interesting to mine, or why should one NOT mine a certain cryptocurrency?

Thanks!

Read your power company rate schedules! Dropped my mining bill by almost half.

The standard rate schedule in my area is $0.13/kWh after all taxes and fees. I was able to call in and request a switch to what they call the "Residential demand" rate schedule in my area which dropped it to $0.07/kWh after all taxes and fees. That includes the demand charges. This is on Xcel energy but their rates vary by state so you'll have to check yourself.

Developed with the assistance of Wolf0, Genesis Mining is proud to present sgminer-gm, for public use and distribution.

Previous developments of ethminer had implemented some fantastic quality-of-life features, such as real time DAG generation, but we really missed the ncurses interface, the API of cgminer and the fan control of sgminer. The solution? Merge our favourite features together!

We’ve created this as a public donation to the cryptocurrency community, and we really hope you find it as useful as we do!

You can download the Windows executable here
Or, you can grab the tar.gz here.
The source code is viewable here.

About Genesis Mining

Founded in 2013, Genesis Mining is one of the largest cloud mining providers in the world. We’re cryptocurrency enthusiasts from various scientific disciplines, but we all share a common thread: a love of digital currency.

You can read more about what we do, and what we offer, here, or if you’re interested, you can see our offered contracts (and pricing) here. If you have any questions not related to sgminer-gm, feel free to contact us!

Which AMD drivers work with 6GPUs in Windows 7 for the RX 470/480?

$

I bought a few more of these RX cards and since I exceed more than 4 GPUs in Windows 7, I had to use that 7GPU Mod Registry hack, however it doesn't seem to work with the newest drivers 16.9.2

It worked perfectly fine running 6 - R9 280X on version 15.7.

The cards are recognized in Windows Drivers however, I can't get more than 5 GPUs to run in one system. Whats everyone been doing?

Thread stuck in device driver error - XFX RX 480s don't work - tried everything

Hi Community :) ,
I ran into a Problem while building my ETH mining rig. Setup:

4 x XFX Radeon RX480 Black edition
Equipped with (as of yet) 3 x Artic Accelero Hybrid III 140mm
Asus P10S WS
Intel i3 6100
1000W BeQuiet! Dark power Pro
Kingston HyperX fury 8Gb DDR4 something or other (I believe this is not important)

While doing some initial test runs, one of the cards gave out and I received a BSOD with "Thread_stuck_in_device_driver_error". Since then I cannot get windows going, with the card plugged in and drivers installed (it works with generic Windows drivers or in safe mode). I am confused about the fact, that the card itself isn't ignored at start up, and the rest of the hardware would keep going. Even the internal GPU doesn’t work when the card is plugged in.
The Microsoft Bug Check Website about the Error message is too specific for me as I am not a programmer.

Before this, the Mboard was already showing CPU over voltage error, which I ignored since all seemed fine in CPU-Z.

I reran the miner with the three remaining GPUs. In the night (coincidentally around the same time as the other one) the PC caved and another GPU showed similar symptoms. Surprising result: This time around, the GPU with the stock fan was the problem, causing me to believe that there is something wrong with either the PSU, the Mboard, or the miner (Up to this point, I blamed overheating of one of the VRMs or VRAMs in the GPU). Another weird thing: The second broken card continued to work for about a day in my old PC. When it stopped, it still worked in the second PCIe slot, but without any display output (I could access windows through TeamViewer, but the card was not recognised as a display adapter in windows’ device manager). Now I am properly confused about the whole thing.
I tried to flash the BIOS on the first broken card to no avail. BIOS flash works like a charm, but driver installation is still not possible afterwards. Can anybody tell me which devices on the card are active when flashing BIOS as compared to installing the driver?
Also, I cannot seem to get Ubuntu going, no matter whether the (hopefully not) damaged card is plugged in or not. It just shows the desktop background without any symbols. I can get into the command line but installing a driver doesn't work either.

I've already tried a clean install via DDU by Wagnard.

All help would be greatly appreciated, since I am absolutely stumped. Thank you!
