Claymore Crashing (WatchDog hang error)

Hello, recently I've been having some issues with Claymore Crashing. Here's what the problem is
"WATCHDOG: GPU 0 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
08:32:42:037 1adc watchdog - thread 1, hb time 76254
08:32:42:037 1adc WATCHDOG: GPU 0 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
08:32:42:037 1adc watchdog - thread 2, hb time 125
08:32:42:038 1adc watchdog - thread 3, hb time 328
08:32:42:038 1adc watchdog - thread 4, hb time 16
08:32:42:038 1adc watchdog - thread 5, hb time 219
08:32:42:038 1adc watchdog - thread 6, hb time 76222
08:32:42:039 1adc WATCHDOG: GPU 3 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
08:32:42:039 1adc watchdog - thread 7, hb time 76020
08:32:42:039 1adc WATCHDOG: GPU 3 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
08:32:42:039 1adc watchdog - thread 8, hb time 156
08:32:42:040 1adc watchdog - thread 9, hb time 63
08:32:43:100 1adc Restarting OK, exit..."

Whenever this happens, the whole computer freezes (Not using the computer for anything else) It is interesting to note, though, how GPU 4 doesn't hang like the others.

What might be causing this, it wasn't running for very long when it did this. Yesterday it ran for 24 hours and 2 minutes, then did the same thing.

Hi,

I thought I share this moded bios for this MSI model (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137024)

You can play around with GPU, Core clocks. My cards would crash on anything lower then these setting, but I saw people go down to 890 mv without no problem at GPU.

Just flash with atiflash. Use latest drivers.

Haven't tried dual mining, but I am sure it just works fine.

if you have questions feel free to ask.

**This thread is for benchmark results only - post questions in other threads**

Geth GPU support is coming soon, in the meantime, the C++ miner is out.
The purpose of this thread is to post GPU results, not CPU.

First, install the client:
https://github.com/ethereum/cpp-ethereum/wiki/Installing-clients

Second, run eth -M -G
Of course, you'll need a GPU for this to work. Use --opencl-device 0 if Eth is not identifying your OCL device properly

Third, post your results!

The format is:

OS / OS version / GPU / Eth Version
min / mean / max: xx / xx / xx
Inner mean: xx.xxxx MH

Please post everything in MH.
Please do not post questions etc as they will be removed.

Update:

Crashing since 1.1.2 Update?

I have several rigs that were stable as a rock on 1.1.1 and since updating to 1.1.2 they all have been locking up / requiring hard reset.
All H81 Pro BTC and all have R9 390's. had them slightly overclocked on 1.1.1

They will run for a while and then just lock up. cant even remotely connect to them.
Turned off overclocking completely and still have the same issue on each rig. They will run for a while and then just lock up.

I know I haven't posted much in the way of details. This is more of a general question to see if anyone else is having similar issues.
I could roll back to 1.1.1 to see if the problem goes away but since they are all crashing I figured it might have something to do with the newest version.

I'm fairly new to Linux so I don't really know what log files to look for clues in or how to go about troubleshooting an issue like this on ethos.
My next step would be to roll back to 1.1.1 to see if it solves the problem.
I'm up for learning if someone wants to tell me which log files to post / help troubleshoot the issue.

I did delete and replace my config file. removed all overclocking etc. Same problem.
I didn't notice any errors from the update itself either. they all seemed to update just fine.

If I stop the miner and just let them sit there doing nothing they don't crash. Its only been a day but that's what it looks like so far.
Once I start the miner within an hour or so they start locking up.

Has anyone else had any issues after updating to 1.1.2?
I just updated them early this morning and the problem started on all of them shortly thereafter.

Thanks in advance to anyone that wants to help.

How to DISABLE Recovery mode in Windows 10?

While Windows 10 is great as a mining OS, there is one annoying problem I have which I never had too much of a problem with in Windows 7.

With Windows 7, if the machine isn't shut down properly, on next boot, it will ask u if you want to go into safe mode. A 30 second timer will auto select to boot Windows normally. That timer has saved me from having to manually hit enter whenever a rig has had issues.

With Windows 10, its all about "use your mouse". If you forcefully restart your machine without shutting down properly after 3 times, the Recovery screen appears on bootup. Problem now is that there is no timer. You have to manually click "Restart my PC" in order for things to go back to normal.

My rigs are stable. However, lately, the power supply coming to my server room hasn't been. So lately, the machines have been having 5-10 second power outages several times a day. While my Windows 7 rigs boot up normally after that 30 second timer, my Windows 10 rigs sit at this damn recovery screen and waits for me to select "Restart my PC". Being a mining rig, this is not good. I've lost lots of valuable mining power while the rig waits for me to connect a mouse and keyboard, and select "Restart my PC".

What i'd like to know, is how to disable this stupid recovery screen. I did some googling and tried several things such as going into command prompt with administrator priveledges and typing the following:

bcdedit /set bootstatuspolicy ignoreallfailures
bcdedit /set recoveryenabled No
bcdedit /set {default} bootstatuspolicy ignoreallfailures
bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No

Windows tells me that the commands have been accepted, however when I test a hard reboot after 3 times, that stupid Recovery screen reappears again on bootup.

Someone please tell me how to make it boot normally no matter what happens! (powercut, BSOD, etc) Thanks :disappointed:

BIOS originally dumped with AtiWinFlash 2.74 on "silent" BIOS jumper position.
Modified with PBE (polaris bios editor) 1.4
Clocks 1125/2080 tuned to keep GPU and mem controller load maxxed.

Cooler profile - unmodified

Flashing and installing procedure can be found in Boysie thread.

It's strongly recommended to flash your card, when BIOS jumper is on "silent" position - when jumper moved to DVI/HDMI connectors side.

You can also use Sapphire trixx, wattman or something else you want - to modify voltage (in most cases it can be lowered), clocks and cooler profile.

BIOS seems to be stable, but use it on your own risk and make backup of your original BIOS before any change/flashing.
If you forgot to do it, you can find it here.

Joke! Even if you do something wrong and catch some troubles - simply boot your system with "default" BIOS jumper position. You can switch it on the fly after booting your OS and flash your original unmodified BIOS.

1 card 8gb sapphire nitro

wattman setting in msi gpu card setting is temperture 60 65 and fan speed rpm 2500 2800 between manual so problem is that with only this msi card.. msi fan speed rpm goes to 0 for like 5 to 10 seconds and then comes again to between 2300 to 2350 so it is normal with msi gpu and its happening again and again after sometime like in minutes or something wrong?

And how much Mhs or Ghs each will I get? Please answer me soon, so I can prepare my computer for this somehow and have any ideas of this. I cat interpret what the comparison charts really say.

I am trying to send some ether , and am getting the message from Mist that there "too many transactions in the queue, try increasing the fee" . I am using Mist/latest Parity on local wallet.

Can someone verify that this is due to the ongoing attacks?

Installed Win 10. Installed AMD driver. Downloaded Genoil 117 binary. ethminer -G --list-devices shows [0] Ellesmere etc. However, ethminer -G -S xxx.. -O xxx.. results in No GPU device with sufficient memory was found. The setx commands already issued.
What have I missed? Probably something simple... Thanks for any help.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04.4 with several R9 280s. I've installed the AMD APP SDK and fglrx-updates. aticonfig sees my GPUs but ethminer does not. What have I done wrong? I swear, this used to work.

Thanks in advance.

RX480 Nitro 4GB bios - small boost

$

Hi,

After using Boysie's excellent low power reference bios, which gave a great boost to my reference rig, i thought i would have a try at creating a custom bios of the RX480 4gb nitro. The imporvements are only minor, im hoping someone with more experience can take it further

Before:21mhs
Modded: 25mhs

Total 6 card Rig (5 nitro 4gb, 1 nitro 8gb unmodded) : 885w at the wall
Total Rig Hash: 145-150mhs

I have no prior experience in modding bios, and the values i used were either

1. Copied from Boysie's bios
2. Copied current wattman settings
3. Or in the case of memory timing they were copied from one one band to another based on what ive read on these forums:

Copied 1625 to 2000
Coped 1500 to 1750
Copied 1425 to 1500 and 1625

Bios - i understand that the 840mV on the GPU means nothing while i have 850mV on the memory, sorry didnt get round to changing it

GPUs 0 to 4 are modded 4GB Nitros. GPU 5 is an unmodded 8GB Nitro

I tried to create a bios for the 8GB card too. I managed to hit 28mhs on that, but it was very eratic, often diving down to 15 mhs and back again. I noticed the the Memory Controller Load in GPZ was jumping all over the place. Anyone know the reason for this? Would be great if it maintained the 28mhs

Thanks again to Boysie for creating the low power bios

BIOS for Sapphire Nitro+ RX480 4GB Elpida

$

Hi all
I recently got some cheap cards for mining - Sapphire Nitro+ with 4GB of Elpida memory which was originally clocked at 1750MHz.

As Polaris Editor doesn't work with Elpida cards, i started fiddling around with the Hexeditor and managed to copy the 1500MHz memory timing straps to the higher ones.
it flashed with no problems - command line:
> atiwinflash -f -p 0 almarley.rom

My test card was first running smoothly @ 29+MH/s while drawing only 77 Watts over the PCIe lines while clocking @ 1145/2050MHz with WattTool.
Funny thing is, that after a few hours it even speeded up to 34MH/s all by itself!! idk how that happened? Any ideas??
Unfortunately Claymore was then also throwing "incorrect shares due to overclocking" messages :(

Feel free to test my BIOS at your own risk.
All modding was done with switch on "silent mode" (towards the connector plate).

My card has PN: 299-2E347-100SA
MD5 of my rom is: 1f9e665e790df58349786a7db641ffb9 for checking
I'm on Win10x64 with Crimson-16.10.1 drivers. No further patching needed.

Since the upgrade to the latest version yesterday, it is not syncing for me at least.

It keeps staying at the 'Adding accounts bloom (one-time upgrade) screen.

I tried to uninstall it then re-install it and same thing. Anyone else have this?
