Hi Everyone

Firstly - Just want to say this forum is by far the most informative and most helpful I've come across... and I feel bad I've recently opened a few discussions for help that I needed but I've not really had the time to give any help back to others so I will from today try to be more interactive as well. I do however try to keep all my discussions updated with latest resolution in case someone else with the same issue does land on it

Before I dive right into the problem, I want to make this thread as in-depth as possible because from searching day & night on the net I've seen a lot of people are having a similar issue and struggling to find a solution. Hopefully, this will give me best chance at finding a solution and helping others.

***THE PROBLEM***
I started with Simplemining.net (smOS) as my preferred OS. I could get 3 GPUs detected and start mining perfectly but after a short time (10min-5hrs) I would see one GPU stop hashing. It can be any GPU, on any slot at any time. I then changed all my risers to the new Ver 008S risers and managed to get 5 GPUs detected but the problem was still there, one random GPU would hang (any gpu, any slot, any time).

When a GPU stops hashing, the others continue for a while but after a minute or two the miner reloads and the GPU starts hashing again. Then it will hang again or another might hang... and sometimes 2 can hang and the third might drop from 26Mh/s to something like 15...8...1Mhs and then the whole system would reboot. Sometimes it might force a reboot straight after the first GPU hanging as well. It's very random.

I have since tried HiveOS and Perfectmining.io but all three give the same issue - I then assumed it was an Ubuntu issue as some said changing to Windows resolved it for them. I also took the time to open all my GPUs and clean them.. cleaned the board, the fan, intercooler and heatsink & I applied new thermal paste.

Yesterday installed Windows 10 Pro, updated it and then switched off further updates. I installed the Adrenaline drivers from AMD (Latest AMDGPU Pro) and began hashing on all 5 GPUs using Claymore V10.2 but the same thing started to happen. I then downloaded Claymore V11.1 and again, the same thing was happening.

If I noticed that GPU2 for example would hang like 3x in a row, I would shut down; disconnect GPU2 and then reboot but then it would be another GPU that hangs, eventually I'd be left with 1 GPU connected and still it can hang randomly.

This morning I've uninstalled the latest AMD drivers using DDU and then installed the 15.12 drivers as recommended on a lot of sites for older cards. I noticed fan control conflicts with miner, msi afterburner and amd overdrive so I disabled amd overdrive and added -tt 1 to the miner config, this has resolved fan control issues.

I've tried again with Claymore V11.1 but it hanged pretty much straight away with just 1 GPU connected. So I'm currently testing with Claymore V10.0 and with 1 GPU connected it is so far running for about an hour (Dual Mining ETH + DCR)... Eth = 42shares so far + DCR = 40 shares so far with 1 rejection on DCR and 0 on Eth. - I'm thinking to let this run overnight before considering connecting a 2nd GPU. It's currently 3:30pm here so that would be a decent 15hr test I think, which would be the lost i've managed to get it to run lol.

Some people suggest clocking back or reflashing GPU bios but all my GPU's are showing STOCK OC on MSI, I did not OC any of them and I haven't messed with flashing any GPU bios. I also don't believe previous owners would have flashed them because from what I've read online there is no point doing that with the R9's.

I've been having this problem for about 5-6 weeks now and I don't know what else I can try. I checked my PSU's and with 5 cards connected they are taking 550w + 740w from the wall. Well under the 1000w capacity but anyway the problem happens with even 1-2 GPUs connected so it's not a PSU issue.

Can someone please help me and guide me through how to find the problem and rectify it? :disappointed:

[Help Needed]Miner's won't detect GPU's

I've tried several mining softwares and several gpu softwares but none of them detects my GPU's. I can see them on the device manager. But can't see them on the mining softwares.
What might be the problem?
I am using win10 64 bit pro and 2x Rx480's

A handful of mining pools are damaging Ethereum -- please help get their settings fixed!

$
0
0
It is believed that the following pools either have the gas limit hardcoded to 4,712,394 or something lower.

These pools need to change their Ethereum client settings to allow for a flexible gas limit (see below on how to do that): If you have contact with any of the above pools, please direct them to the Reddit thread linked at the bottom so we can help get them setup with the correct command line flags!

The following pools appear to be using the proper settings:

All pools should be running with the following settings:

Geth:
--gasprice 4000000000 --targetgaslimit 4712388

Parity:
--gas-floor-target 4712388 --gas-cap 9000000 --gasprice 4000000000

If you are on social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) then please share this thread and get it as widely distributed to your mining friends or friends of friends, as possible.

Thank you!

Using 2 HP Server Power Supplies on rig build?

$

0
So I have traditionally always used desktop power supplies for my rig builds and am now planning to use HP Server Power Supplies since they are obviously cheaper and more reliable. Using a single 1200W HP Power supplies seems pretty straight forward to me, but is there a way to chain 2 power supplies together for a rig build in the similar way like I have chained two EVGA power supplies in together so they startup simultaneously? If so how is this done? I ask because it seems like my rig build is going to consume close to 1650 watts so, I was would like to use one 750W and one 1200W power supply if it's possible.

Thanks.

Do you guys want an ethOS Custom Web Stats Panel?

$

Yo,
I am planning to setup a custom web statistics panel for ethos since gpushack is asking for a lot of amount.
I can make anywhere from a simple raw html panel to a well designed CSS panel with email notifications and stuff.
I want to keep the panel simple and short, not displaying unnecessary data like on the ethOS Panel, if needed all those information can be showed in a more detailed page about the rig.

I'll be needing more than a few Yeses to the poll to get motivated enough to start the project.
Please provide your responses and feedbacks to help me make this project successful.
Thank You

ethOS - Alternative Web Statistics Panel

Hi guys,
we spent little time on the new simple web statistics panel for ethOS - Ethereum Mining Platform based on Linux.

ethOS Stats v1.1

- you can still use ethOS statistics panel
- you can add notes / rig
- on/off total stats
- setting of refresh time
- overheat color
- last seen color
- show: version, GPUs/rig, name, ip, last seen time, uptime, hashrate, temperatures of GPUs, motherboard/notes

If anyone is interested, let me know, you can try it. Installation is not complicated. But you must know, I'm new in Linux and it's little bit "home solution". No history, no all information, just necessary things.

Future plans:

- API
- mobile app support
- email Alerts (overheat, rig off)
- password protection

3gb cards no longer good for mining ethereum?

I have 2 gtx 1060 3gbs which seem to have problems creating the dag files.

Can anyone confirm that the Dag file is now too large for these cards?? Could this be specific to my mining rig?

I have a couple of cards with larger memory and they seem ok.

Undervolting AMD RX cards on Linux

$

I'm trying to undervolt different models of AMD RX GPUs on Ubuntu.
I did a lot of research and, as far I know, my two only options are:

- Using ohgodatool to change vddc index

For example ohgodatool -i 0 --core-state 7 --core-vddc-idx 6, but I don't really understand this.
I'm testing on a RX 470 Mining Edition and on state 6 I have -26. -26 what? 26mV less than the base value? -26%? And what's the base value?
Also, if I understand correctly, I can't choose an arbitrary number of mV.

- Editing the VBIOS

This gives me more control but it's a nightmare.
A few questions: When editing the VoltageObjectInfo portion of the bios, how do I choose the value in mV?
I watched a video that explains this, and they say that the hex value should increase by one for every 6.25mV increase, but again, what's the base value? 0?

A couple more questions:
How does ethOS do this? How can it apply an arbitrary number of mV?
Is there a way to know the current value in mV that the card is using? I didn't find any tools to do this.
Do I have any other option?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

SMALL MINING FARM PROBLEM, ASUS RX470 4GB MINING EDITION

Dear comunity,

I make this post because we are trying to make a small mining farm with 100 rigs. this are the spec:

- ASUS RX470 4GB MINING
- ASROCK H110
- CELERON G3930
- 4GB DDR4
- 2 X CORSAIR RM1000X/I

https://i.imgur.com/boVIGuL.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/TDhLVtA.jpg

We got also few rigs with Nvidia 1070 and 1080ti, works perfectly. but now making this new project we found those issues:

- Randomly crashed rigs, we use simplemining OS and Ethos. I'm pretty sure that there are not defects on those rigs, until they were moved to the big place they work months without crash. Now we encounter randoms crash in differents rigs everyday. Do you know if possible both OS cause trouble on the same LAN?

- We ordered from asus the most part of our GPUs, the RX470 4gb mining edition. Since now all we mount are ELPIDA memories.

https://i.imgur.com/kPSWK9c.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/HnfmOEw.jpg

We modded the bios very carefully, they seems to work with the mems (1900 and 1000mv) and leaving automatic voltage on gpu, timings are set on 1500 straps. We tryied to do more undervolting on mem but seems to crash, also gpu without automatic voltages give lots of problems.

About 10% of the total gpu lot are defective, they don't mine even with stock settings, they crash to 0 mhs on claymore. Do you guys have any clue on this?

I will be very thanksfull if anyone could provide me support on this. Any details you need please ask me.

Best regards,

PSU: 1350 + 700 W
GPUs: 8x 1070ti msi gaming x

When I install 5 gpu it works ok but when I add one more I get stuck at windows loading with a noisy screen like this (mine has a black band in the middle, I can take a pic if you necessary)

I never saw something like this and I cant find anything online.
I even tried 2x 1350W psu but still nothing.

I tried 15 gpus and 16 riser cards but the problem still stands

Any help would be appreciated

GPU crashes when start

One of my bios modded xfx rx 580 8gb runs normally when the pc starts, but as soon as I run claymore it crashes my pc. I already tested individually by changing it to a different slot on my motherboard , I also tried with different riser cables to see if the cable or slot is defective or not, but the problem persists.

I have some other cards (4x 570 4g & 1x 580 8g) connected to the pc, but they run just fine except for the other one. I'm starting to think maybe the card turned bad.

So, what is the problem forum?

If anyone else out there has a few rigs running Fury cards I’m hoping you could help.

Just a few months ago the hash of each card was 30+ and now we are down to 27.5/card

I was hoping there is a bios I missed or if there is anything that could boost this back up. I hate to see fury cards start to hit the dust already.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@Heliox

You mentioned in this post that your 390 Nitro's post the numbers in the title (39 MH/s, 55-60 C).

Gotta say it, bro you're a genius.

How did you get these numbers?

I want to know everything.

I've found a bunch of different posts and managed to gather you're using:

Bios: Custom 390 nitro rom
Cc: 1260
Mem clock: 1500

What model number is the card you're using? Is it this: https://amzn.com/B015DXHEAW ?
Is the custom rom you're using in your rom package? (http://www.mininghwcomparison.com/RomPackage.zip)
What mining client are you using ?
What is your config.txt or your command line string?

Is there anything else I should know to get those numbers?

Are you using water cooling?

Do you think you just won the silicon lottery or is this possible on all cards with the same model #/ manufacturer?

You da best

Support Deuter Coin
Our Coin has been launched to early due to our code on github being found ahead of schedule. Due to this, we are still in the process of setting up the coin fully to a level that we’re happy with.

All the cost of the VPS servers for nods and pools have been paid from our pocket because we didn't have time to find some sponsors like we have plan too.
In close future, we will have to spend more to set more and better nods... That's why we didn't have much choice than ask for your support.

Application EthDcrMiner64. has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware.

Hi!

I´ve built a mining rig consisting of roughly this hardware:

MoBo: MK MSI Z170A-S02
CPU: Intel Core i3 6100 3.7 GHz 3MB
RAM: 8GB DDR4
HDD: SSD
PSU: 1200W
GPUs:
5x ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GAMING OC
1x EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB ACX 3.0 FTW Gaming

I´m running Windows 10 Pro and NVIDIA driver version: 384.76. I´m mining with Claymore´s Dual miner 9.7 and I´ve been altering between Eth+SIA and Eth+LBRY.

To tweak my performance I´ve tried to follow the various tips and trix on this forum and anywhere else I could find them (a big thanks to those who contribute). I´m reaching 30MH/s Ethereum while dual mining LBRY on around 28.5MH/s per card. I´m using GPU Tweak 2 for clocking and I´ve right now got the memory up by 700mhz and the GPU clock down by 50mhz.

There seem to be only one thing left that irritates me and that keeps restarting my miner on irregular intervals and it´s this system log message:
Application EthDcrMiner64. has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware.

From what I´ve read people recommend making exceptions to windows defender, I´ve tried both exceptions and disabling it the hard way (all the services are now disabled) but I still see this message.

I´ve seen recommendations of updating the drivers and windows update but I´ve grabbed the latest win update and NVIDIA driver from earlier this month so should be OK I guess.

Anyone have any tips on what I can do to get rid of this issue?

Cheers,
Chris

Do you think that DIG coin is best for cloud mining ? Can you agree with me ?

$

0

Hello I feel. The solution offered by DIG coin has all the advantages needed to promote the distributed nature intended for encryption, so that people accept again competitive mining. Impact of irresponsible power consumption. It also brings great monetary benefits to coin holders.

The second phase of this project involves giving incentives to discount DIG to compete with other market leading cloud mining companies to offer discounts provided by digital excavators. DIG coins will lead to a new generation of cloud mining engaged in encryption mining. As participation increases, competition is more and more balanced, the world's mining rights are more dispersed.
The acceptance of DIG coins will help to further strengthen block chain technology and world mining. T The initial market value of a DIG coin is guaranteed by a cloud mining contract ($ 0.50 in any case).

Their platform wants to save costs with respect to cloud mining. The sharp increase in mining equipment, power usage, block chain cost hinders many people from engaging in mining.
