Hello fellow miners.
Unfortunately I am writing because I seem to have bricked my RX470 and I have run out of ideas, and would really appreciate your advise.
I have noticed other threads about this, but no solutions yet.
This is where I am so far:
1. I had extracted the RX470 bios with an old version of GPUZ, and this was only 58kb in size (thought something was off but didn't pay attention).
2. I went to restart and the system wouldn't boot / black screen on monitor (I knew I bricked it then).
3. Moved over the RX470 to another PCIE slot and chucked on another card to boot the system.
4. Now in Windows, I went into ATI Winflash and saw the RX470 in slot 1, and thought, ok sweet, I'll just flash this back to original settings.
5. Flashed the original .rom back in and... nothing. The card would not be recognised in Device Manager.
6. Downloaded: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/185973/asus-rx470-4096-160715
7. That's the same model as my card, and so I got that bios (this one is 256kb). Flashed.. and nothing. Still not recognised in Device Manager.
8. The card is still found in ATI Winflash and can be flashed again. I had also gone into CMD and flashed it with atiwinflash -f -p 1 bios.rom.
9. I have seen a video where someone extracted the bios from their RX470 with ATI Winflash instead, and it was 512kb.
10. I wonder if anyone here has the same card with their original and a modded .rom to post. This would mean the world to me right now.
I would be grateful for any help at this stage.
Kindest regards,
Carlos
