Hi all,
Backstory: I flashed the BIOS on my single RX 470 and single RX 480 last week and after about 20 minutes of mining, the screen went black and I couldn't boot. Ended up having to remove both cards, boot from integrated graphics, uninstall the 17.x drivers and revery back to 16.9.x (hadn't realized the device signature issues). I did all of that yesterday and got the cards mining again. Only issue was that when the computer booted, I would no longer see the UEFI screen from my motherboard—the computer would just drop me into the windows 10 log-in screen after about 5-10 seconds of black. There was no way for me to get into my BIOS settings, hitting DEL didn't do anything, etc.
I left them going for a few hours and came back—the computer was still on, but not mining, and there was no signal coming from the cards. Now when I reset I just get a black screen. So, I reset the CMOS (why not), removed the cards, and booted from integrated graphics. Looking at the claymore logs, I started to get "Cannot get overdrive capabilities for adapter 0"... messages, my rx470 went to 0 mh/s, then watchdog reports that both GPUs are hanging in OpenCL call and restarts. On restart, no AMD GPUs are found. Looking in device manager, my RX480 has "events" at the exact time the system went down saying "Driver service added (amdkmdap)" and "Driver service added (AMD External Events Utility for Device Instance...)"
Also, "AMD Settings" in Windows says "New". I wonder if AMD auto-updated the drivers on me overnight...
