PCI-e 1 to 3 port Switch Experiences

What are the experiences using these devices to extend and use a 5 PCI slot MoBo to make a 7 GPU Rig?
Anyone willing to share experiences? These days I see shortage and price gauging of MBs with 6 or 7 PCI slots
