How do miners get their GPU above 100 Mhs ?

This is a question that has been asked and answered a thousand times I am sure. I understand that there are factors like OS, GPU card and then rigs containing multiple GPU cards. But what I have noticed is that on the etheruem network you can view what the output is per GPU. Which generally is in the region of 100 where mine is 25 Mhs. I have a GTX 1070, is this why it is so low?
