Z270a Board power button ceasing to function

Hey guys -- I have a maddening problem I'm finding absolutely no solution for. A few weeks back I went out of town for a week. Of course as soon as I get to the airport 1 miner goes down. I come back, hit the "on" button on the mobo and nothing happens. The LED light is of course on but no PSU fans spin, nor the CPU, nothing. Keep in mind this is a miner that has been working for months straight with no issues. I have quite a few extra boards and such on hand so I don't think much of it, RMA the Mobo and put a new one in place. Viola -- Works like a charm. I'm back mining again... For a week. Same issue with the new board occurs this evening so I immediately think it's a PSU issue. I test both of them and nothing glaring pops up. I test all the components one by one and again nothing suspicious. I do notice that the new windows creator update somehow installed itself and I don't have the option to roll back for whatever reason. Which is just comical -- Thanks Microsoft. MSI afterburner is super laggy but I notice that the memclock has been bumped up to 2200+ (I never go past 2060) and I have no reason how that happened. That's the only thing I see as really suspicious but I can't fathom where to go from here.

Anyways, I've got another board running but I'm sure it's headed for the same fate. Anyone had similar issues or have any suggestions? I'm going to reset windows tomorrow and go through that nonsense but at this point all I can think is that it's a PSU issue. I'm using dual 850W PSUs EVGA G2s.

CGMiner - CPU/GPU mining software for windows

This is the official thread for support and development of CryptoGuiMiner! Please any suggest and praise.

I see that there are a lot of questions and different answers on forums on the subject of mining cryptocurrencies. So now… which cryptocurrency should you be mining and how? For beginners and people with no knowledge of cryptocurrencies, the biggest issue are the very basics like adjusting the settings which can be complicated and hard to figure out. If you want to start mining, it must be way more complicated than just a few clicks! Or is it? So you don’t have to bother, lose time or God forbid adjust something wrongly, there is an interesting piece of software that helps you and does everything automatically for you. I’m writing this because I myself am using this software and can confirm that it is definitely the best solution for everyone who is new in the world of cryptocurrency mining.

The program is called Crypto Gui Miner and it you can download it from: https://goo.gl/V3qh6d

The program Is currently running, ie it recognizes NVIDIA graphic cards, but when I asked their support, I was told that all the graphic cards which could bring you profit will soon be supported. The main thing which makes this program so special and what sets it apart from the others is the simplicity and automatic set-up function. There is even a calculator on their website that will calculate which cryptocurrency is the most profitable to mine, depending on the graphics cards that you use.

When you run the program, it will automatically recognize the graphics cards that you are using and adjust the settings so that it mines the cryptocurrency that is the most profitable. You also have a nice and clear display of temperature and other useful data such as hashrates, estimated monthly earnings in US dollars or Bitcoin, monitoring for tracking results via mobile phone, etc.

All you have to do is insert your wallet address so you can dafely save the currency you are mining directly into your wallet (and it is saved automatically). The best place for creating your wallet is the official website of the cryptocurrency that you wish to start mining. Of course, you always have control over what and when you will be mining.

You can also enter more than one wallet into the program, so the program will mine the currency that is the most profitable at that time. However, if you only wish to mine one cryptocurrency, then just click on the button “Force” and the chosen cryptocurrency will be mined regardless of the others.

Basically, since I’m on NVIDIA graphics cards, this is definitely the number one choice of all the mining programs.

In short, don’t focus on mining Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum or other currencies that are difficult to mine and you need hardware of 100+ thousands of EUR. Focus on currencies that can quickly be mined and monetized, converted into cash or for buying other cryptocurrrencies or if you plan to invest them in the long run. Just download the program, choose one or more currencies for mining, insert your wallet and that is it. No complicated settings, losing time, uncertainties etc.

Atikmdag Patcher 2.0.1

$

0
Version 2.0.1 is compatible with Catalyst 15.12 to Crimson 18.2.3. It can be used with future versions if it finds the limits you need.
Getting started:
Run atikmdag-patcher.exe.
If all limits are found, click "Yes" to patch and sign. If a limit is not found or if multiple matches are found, the patcher needs to be updated.
Reboot.
To restore the unpatched driver, run the patcher again and click "Yes" to restore from backup.

Known issues:
Legacy drivers may have issues with HDCP and video acceleration with the patch.
Workarounds for video playback issues with legacy drivers:
Disable hardware acceleration in the Flash Player settings (right-click on any Flash video and click "Settings...").
Use the Codec Tweak Tool to disable DXVA hardware acceleration under "Various Tweaks" (in the "Miscellaneous" section).
AMD/ATI cards have a design limitation unrelated to the patch that causes video acceleration to scramble the screen if the vertical blanking/total is below standard with the video card's memory overclocked or with multiple monitors connected. Skype is known to trigger this problem. Either don't overclock the video card's memory, or use the "LCD standard" vertical blanking/total in CRU.
AMD/ATI cards require the "LCD standard" vertical blanking/total to reduce the memory clock when idle. Horizontal values can still be reduced if necessary.

FAQ:
Q: How to select a GPU that will be used by a miner
A: Use option --cuda_devices 0 1 2 digits is id of the devices which will be used.

Q: How intensity works?
A: The miner uses adaptive intensity and tries to use the maximum intensity value, with the help of the --intensity option you can set a limit on the maximum intensity, this will slightly reduce gpu usage and performance. Allowed values 1 - 64. You can set different values for each cards --intensity 64 64 64 64

Q: How to use config?
A: You can run the miner like all previous versions with command line arguments, in this case the config file will be ignored. If you sets the --config argument, the specified config file will be used, all other command line arguments will be ignored. If you run a miner without command line arguments, the miner will try to use the default config file miner.cfg.

Q: How to use failover servers
A: This feature works only with config files, see config examples, supplied with the miner.

I just didn't expected that promo code! such a surprise! Damn! It is cool!
I would also recommend to check out the decent cloud mining journal http://cryyyptomining.com best articles about that!
for instance something i understand from that journal is the matter of the process of cloud mining operation

Cloud mining is a complex service that sells the powerful device, ensured by enterprises that own mighty data centers. It’s kind of investment of money for mining of crypto money with help of powerful blocks forming blockchain.
These days there are three most widely used cloud mining methods:
* Hosting – platform where owner provides equipment to rent for cryptocurrency miners.
* Virtual hosting – renting of area on the server with following installation of tenant’s software for cryptocoins mining.
* Lease computing capacity of the server without opportunity to regulate its operation.

check that journal on that and other topics.

Summer tuned settings for RX 580 cards?

So I'm trying to reduce heat with my array of rigs.
I briefly decided to mine XMR to reduce heat but the profitability hit is just too much.

Now i'm trying to de-tune my ETH mining to get a lower performance and lower heat output.
Curious if anyone else is doing this right now?

I just did 1000 core clock. (was 1150 before.)
same ram speeds as before.
and reduced core voltage to cvddc to 875. (Was 890 before.)

Seems to be working pretty good. around 27.5mh/s average. (13 card rig dropped from 388mh/s to 355mh/s... so I effectively lost like 30mh/s per rig.)
Curious if I can drop that cvddc further now that I'm at 1000 cclock instead of 1150.

Thoughts? What are you guys doing?

Hi Guys, got another 2 8Gb RX580's today and joined then to my successfully running rig of 3 RX 580's.

Original 3 card rig was 2x 8Gb Rx580 and 1x 4Gb RX580, all working very well for well over 10 day now.

Added the 2 extar 8Gb Cards to rig and the 4Gb card cause the ' OpenCL Error -4 (0) - Cannot create DAG on GPU' error?? After 30 secs or so it says Card Failed and then reboots The mining software.

Put the rig back to original setup runs fine, take out the 4Gb RX580 and run with 4x 8Gb and it runs fine.

Tried changing the 4Gb card position on the MoBo, no difference. Searched on here for this error and most answer come back saying not enough memory to create DAG.....But it works fine on it's own or fine with 2 other 8Gb RX580's.

Any Ideas??

Thanks Peps!

New Mobo, lower hashrate :-( Why?

Hi friends,
I've been mining for a couple of months now, with a basic rig setup of single GPU R9 380x on a Gigabyte 970 AM3+ motherboard (all pre-used hardware).
My setup and settings are posted here for details.
After a recent thermal paste renewal on the GPU heatsink, and adding a couple of fans to the casing, I was getting a decent ~25.3 MH/s on this setup. But few days ago, the motherboard went kaput and the PC just went dead. Ofcourse I verified the Mobo as the culprit, by plugging in another PSU.
Now I got another used Mobo, an MSI 970A-G43, keeping all the rest hardware the same. The PC is back online now, and after installing/updating all the required drivers, as I started mining again, the hashrate now showing just ~20.07 MH/s. I even checked the Bios settings of the new Mobo and set everything to "no power saving" and set for high performance, but don't see any improvements to the hashrates.
Now 'm really at my wit's end; can't figure out why the hashrate dips so low all of a sudden?
Can any one please po

Why do we use the graphic card video?

For mining, all we need the graphic cards for is computing.

Yet, I have been unable to get a rig working using the onboard video.
