help picking PSU - 6x1080 TI

Hi!

could you guys please help me to choose then right PSU for that configuration .How much the minimum watt i should aim for?
Do you think EVGA SuperNOVA G2 1600 1600W 331€ or
Corsair Professional Series Titanium 1500W 423€ will also work?
if not i guess i will have to go 2 x PSU ?!? If so wich one?

GPU:
6 x 1080 TI
6 x Riser

CPU: Intel Pentium G4400, 2x 3.30GHz, boxed (1151)
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury blue DIMM 8GB, DDR3-1600, CL10

Solo Mining - Do I need to be mining contienously to earn ether?

I'm new to mining ether, so i apologize if this question sounds dumb

Is there a big advantage (in term of speed) in using mining pools vs solo mining?

I'm also wondering if I choose solo mining, does it need to be continuous for it to count? Say i mine for a few hours every day. Would I still eventually be rewarded?

6 Gpus on Asrock Fatal1ty B250 GAMING K4

- Hi guys, I recently bought the parts to build 4 rigs with the following config each one.:

- Mobo Asrock Fatal1ty B250 GAMING K4
- 6 RX 470 4Gb. Different assemblers.
- 4GB Corsair Vengeance 2133
- Celeron G3900
- Windows 10 x64p

- For now, I've only been able to make the system recongnize 5 GPUs, but no luck with the sixth one. Even that the system is totally unsatable, some time only recognizes 4 GPUs.

- I would like to know if anyone in the forum has found a solution or have encounter this problem. I actually found a threat here that mention this MOBO but anything else. Essentially I have this situation but for some reason I believe I'am the only one who cant make all 6 GPUs work.

- I also found this but it's the same.

Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Please miners i need your help. I want to start my rig and i'm confused about various model and brands of RADEON RX480 (8GB). I have already everything but one week i'm searching for the best graphic cards. I want to start with two and soon when i learm how the system work i'll buy other 4.
To start... Which brand is better? Xfx or shapphire or asus or msi or gigabyte?
And every brand have 3-4 different models (that i can find in Greece).
XFX have 4 models that are: RX-480P8LFB6 - RX-480M8BFA6 - RX-480P8DBA6 - RX-480P8DFA6
Sapphire: 11260-20-20G - 11260-10-20G - 11260-01-20G - 11260-07
Msi: RX 480 ARMOR 8G OC - RX 480 GAMING X 8G
Asus: 90YV09I2-M0NA00 - 90YV09K1-M0NA00 - 90YV09K0-M0NA00
Gigabyte: GV- RX480G1 GAMING-8GD - GV-RX480WF2-8GD

The prices are from 226 euros to 306 euros.

Please help me. I want to start soon because i belive that i'm in love with Ethereum!!!

Rig porn - post your pics!

There is a serious lack of rig porn on this forum! I just spent a few hours getting one of my stubborn R9 290 cards up and running. Ended up having to make a custom BIOS for it to get it to stop crashing the drivers or whole computer, but at least this rig is back to 5 cards! Will move it back to the mining building tomorrow if it stays stable.


5x Sapphire R9 290 Reference Cards
ASRock H81 Pro BTC Motherboard
USB risers
2x PSU (Antec 1300W Plat and Corsair HX850 Gold)
Some 2x1s, cheap metal racks, glue and screws
138MH/s total
Total cost... I don't remember, they've paid themselves off several times tho!

Let's see your rig! Nothing too shameful to post - those 6 card rigs haphazardly arranged on your desk are just as good =p.

Hi,

I thought I share this moded bios for this MSI model (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137024)



You can play around with GPU, Core clocks. My cards would crash on anything lower then these setting, but I saw people go down to 890 mv without no problem at GPU.

Just flash with atiflash. Use latest drivers.

Haven't tried dual mining, but I am sure it just works fine.

Rx570 does not work with rx 470

I have 1rx 570 and 2 rx470.I build a small 3 gpu rig from left over parts.when i install the rx 470 drivers they work very well.But when i tried to install 570 with 470s After the driver installation of 570 the 470s are now showing yellow flags in device manager.They are not detected by the genoils miner.Any fix for this??? has any one encountered any problems while pairing 470 and the 570? please help.

MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON have 7 PCIE-E slots,it's a good motherboard to build mining rig.

Old BIOS is hard to MOD and only can run 6 GPU at same time.
How to use old BIOS MOD to success 6 GPU see my blog old past (link)

2016-12-26 MSI release new BIOS version 1.7 for Z170 and Z170A motherboard
It's easy to setting and successful mining 7 GPU at same time.

My mining rig:
(1)CPU : Intel® Celeron® Processor G3900
(2)Motherboard : MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON
(3)GPU : MSI GAMING X RX 470 4GB * 6 and MSI GAMING X RX 470 8GB * 1
(4)Memory : Kingston 8GB DDR4 2400
(5)SSD: 120GB
(6)PSU : CORSAIR RM1000X
(7)Other : USB 3.0 PCI-E Express 1x To 16x Extender Riser Card Adapter X6
(8)System : Windows 10



Step 1. Download BIOS Version 1.7




Step 2. Unzip and put BIOS file E7A12IMS.170 to USB flash disk root directory.




​Step 3.
Shutdown computer and don't plug in anything on PCI-E slots.
Only plug in HDMI cable and BIOS USB flash disk.




Step 4. Boot up and into BIOS and press F7 to Advanced.



Step 5. SELECT M-FLASH




Step 6. Press Yes to Auto reboot enter flash mode.




Step 7. M-Flash mode




Step 8. Select BIOS file E7A12IMS.170 and press YES to flash BIOS.




Step 9. Waitting BIOS Updating




Step 10. Into BIOS
Settings>Advanced>PCI subsystem Setting
PEG 0 and PEG 1 set to Gen1
Above 4G Decoding set to Enabled




Step 11.
Settings>Advanced>Integrated Peripherals
Unchanged



Step 12.
Settings>Advanced>Integrated Graphics Configuration
Unchanged




Step 13.
Save change BIOS and shutdown computer.
Plug In all USB extender riser and HDMI cable plug In Graphics card.




Step 14. Boot up into Win 10 the 7 GPU is get.




Step 15. ETH mining Claymore can detect 7 GPU.




Step 16.
MSI GAMING X RX 470 4GB *6 +
​MSI GAMING X RX 470 4GB *1 = 195 Mh/s ETH




Step 17. This is my 7 GPU mining rig




Step 18. This is easy to build 7 GPU mining rig.

Hi, I've tried OC'ing my GPU which has a modded bios. I've tried 1100/1900 but I get a lot of incorrect shares.
What settings would you recommend?

EDIT: 1150/1950 seems to work, will run it for some time and see how it goes.

Hello, I currently have 2x RX 480 NITRO+ 4GB.
One of them overclocks to 2100 mem Clock with absolutely no problem.
The other one however generaqtes a lot of incorrect shares on stock clocks and even underclocked.

Is my GPU faulty in any way? How can I diagnose this?

Am I doing something wrong?

Both cards have been bios modded with anorak's bios. The porblem persists with and without bios mod.


Using latest drivers on windows 10 with atikmdag patch.


Please help me. Thank you guys in advance.

incorrect eth shares when overclocked

Hey everyone!

First time posting.

I'm running an MSI Rx 470 Armor OC 4gb and am able to get the card up to ~ 28 / 29 mh/s but whenever it's above 25 mh/s it only gets incorrect shares.

I modded the bios and applied the 1500 memory strap to 1625 / 1700 / 2000

When I set the memory clock to 1750 I can get ~25.2 mh/s but any other tweaks to make it higher result in incorrect share messages.

Has anyone else experienced this and was able to solve it? I see people getting 28 / 29 mh/s on the same card. I am mining on the ethermine pool.

Hi friends,

I started to search "best GPU for mining" almost everyone suggested for rx 470/480 8 gb oc .
Planning to buy, but think I missed the shot all 470/480 GPU's are 2,3 times hire in price or out of stock , I think manufactures are mining for themselves rather selling in market lol ,

Can anyone here help me to find other GPU for mining have good hash rate. (price doesn't matter nor the electricity) , but yes I really don't want to pay 2,3 times more for the same card due to lack of availability.

480 nitro+ 4gb samsung memory bios

I've been trying to get my 480 cards in order, since with the bios I am running I keep getting tons of incorrect shares. I did browse the forum, especially Jukebox's thread, but I believe his bioses wont match my cards. My cards are 11260-01-20G.

Anyone to send me a link of some good bios for my card, or just let me know what the best strap settings are, so that I can prepare my own bios?

Hello everyone,
fisrt, there is my setup:
Intel g1840
Asrock Pro btc r2.0
4go memory
3rx 480
1200w
ssd120go
drivers 16.11.5
windows 10

I modded the bios of my 3 cards, they run, 27-28mhs each one, but when i touch the coreclock, my cards crash.
GPU0 can run 2200mhz solo but with other cards pluged it runs 23mhs (dont know why)
GPU1 can't even support 2050mhz.
GPU2 same.
I use claymore miner duo eth-dcr
I don't understand why, i didn't touch voltage.
Help me pls
