Just a warning to anyone who may be interested in buying graphics cards from 'China'
Recently contacted a seller on Ali BaBa who was selling cards, albeit cheap around $150-$200 a unit, offering 1 free if you buy 2!
This is a scam! The advert is listed in completely random shops, the advert I found was a food store! If you look at the advert, the format is different to the rest of the shops advert, and only lists a WhatsApp and Email address to contact the seller on.
The seller is actually based in the US, the WhatsApp number is US. The sellers only accept Money Gram or Western Union, NOT Paypal.
When you pay the seller, they send you a photoshopped shipping note, the first warning you will never receive anything from them. I called them up and you could quite clearly tell the guy sounded Nigerian, and was in a room full of others typing away on keyboards, when you mention that are scamming people, they turn nasty and start swearing at you, something which a genuine seller wouldn't.
I know the phrase 'If it looks to good to be true, it probably is' but it's not un heard of for products to be quite a bit cheaper from China, but it appears these guys are just cashing in on the demand for these cards, I was looking for an 'RX480'.
Luckily we got a refund through CC company, but the idea is once you send money with Western Union or MoneyGram, you can't reclaim it and they collect it.
Also, they want the money sent via cash rather than to a company bank account!
If you see any of these signs whilst purchasing graphics cards... let me warn you... run a mile!
