Some (newbie-) questions about VBIOS modding

Hello!
I'm new to vbios modding and have some (maybe too silly?) questions in mind for which I didn't find an answer so far:

1) Does the vbios backup of a gpu contain its serial number or any further identifiable information? Specifically, do i need to backup each single GPU when I later wanna be able to restore them to their original states, even if the models are identical (e.g. multiple Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro [no plus] OC 4GB)?

2) My card has two memory entries, hynix and elpida, and contains two sets of timing strips. Does it mean it actually HAS two vram modules? I.e. a total of 8GB vram, downgraded to 4, or are these both only compatible entries? How do I know which ram/entry is actually used? Is it safe to modify both entries in the same way (e.g. copy up all 1500 entries to higher clockrates), or do I need to differentiate?

3) In polarisBIOSEditor there is a "Memory" box with MHz and mV settings. The highest MHz entry seems to be the default vram timing used by ethOS, while the voltage settings seem to be completely ignored (at least for the rx400 series). Is this right?

4) I've read that one can use AMDs wattman to edit voltage settings. Are these settings -made under Windows (7)- persistent, even if I use ethOS for mining? If yes, why do I get slightly higher hashrates under Windows7 than using ethOS? If no, why is my GPU crashing in ethOS after a few minutes when being modyfied by Wattman before?

5) I wasn't able to get my power draw below 140W. (180W at wall with a single GPU). I've tried a 25mv offset using wattman, but the GPU has crashed a few minutes after doing work under ethOS. When 25mv didn't make any difference in power usage, is it worth trying out lesser voltage drops then? Can a lesser offset result in a higher drain? I don't normally think so.

6) Are there any (specifically voltage-) setting out there that work good with the above gpu? Currently I use 1165 MHz core , 2150 MHz ram and the original 1500 timing sets for hynix and elpida. 2000 MHz ram is not stable, though the spreadsheet states that its maximum rate is 2500MHz.

7) is there any software other than wattman (and hex editors) for setting voltage offsets?

My Sapphire RX480 Nitro 4GB OC makes ca 27,5 MH/s using ethOS and 140W at the wall.

/McJoey
