I've been running one non-ref MSI RX480 directly off the mobo for weeks with no trouble...a small RX400 rig to test the new series. I'm using ethos and have pwr set to 3, which by my understanding is underclocking/undervolting the core. I'm getting about 23.5mh/s. I initially wanted to OC the card for more hashpower, but it seems ethos is limited to ~24mh/s regardless of how I set things up, so I've elected a slight detune vs a frivolous OC.
Now that I've familiarized myself I'm considering a second non-ref 480 running at the same power level. I've heard warnings of RX 480s burning out risers...any danger running two directly off the mobo, with detuned power settings?
Any hope future refinements will permit two non-ref RX 480s to run OCed at 27+mh/s directly off the board without power concerns?
