I have now set up my basic mining rig and it is running well.
I have two rx480 cards that I have not modified in any way, hardware or software.
The average hashrate is now 40MH/s but there has not been a full 24 hours since I started with the two cards so I expect this to go to something like 46-48MH/s which seems to be typical for two rx480 cards.
The gpus run pretty hot. About 66°C and 55°C. Currently I have them in a box that is pretty constrained and the gpus are connected directly into the motherboard. Next on my list is to build an open rig and put the gpus away from each other.
The power of the whole rig (including motherboard, cpu, etc.) is 400 watts. I do not have anything to compare to but I think it is pretty resonable.
Now I am wondering what my next step, after building an open case, could be to optimize the hashrate and power consumption. Can someone suggest what can be done to optimize the rig?
