Hi guys,
first I'd like to say hi to ethereum community, it's great to be joining you.
Sooo, next week im gonna build my first mining rig, this will be 3x gtx 1060 (i know, not top of the line, but the best i can afford atm).
Questions:
1. Im considering sawpping my gtx 1070 from my gaming pc into mining rig for better performance (2x gtx 1060 and 1x 1070) coz I dont need that GPU power in games really, gtx 1060 will be good enough. If I decide to do it, how do I go about it and does it matter which GPU I install as '1st GPU' ? Do I just download drivers for one card install them, reboot, install the other cards and download different drivers for them ?
2. Will hashrate differ between windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 ?
3. I'm getting a 700W PSU, I know this will be enough for 3x gtx 1060, probably enough for 4 of them or (3x gtx 1060, 1x 1070) but what about 5x 1060? If they run at ~80W each (75% of TDP setting in afterburner) that's around 400W with 300w left for other compotents. Am I right in this ?
thanks for your time,
peace from a fellow techno-crypto-hippie
