Ethereum wallet syncing takes forever

I downloaded the Ethereum wallet a couple weeks ago. The node is syncing at a crawl of around 2.3 million out of 3.8 million. It updates a few here and there, but moving at a snails pace. It moved fast for the first few hours or so. Just barely moving for the past almost 2 weeks.

Anyone have any idea why? I just checked and I'm on the latest version.
