I recently learned that using stratum proxy to mine not just increase the earning but also decrease the network traffic. But Im confused about stratum and proxy, they seem to usually said together, what does each of them do? Im using genoil's ethminer, it seems to use stratum without proxy, does that mean i already have the increased earning due to stratum but not the decreased network traffic since no proxy is being used? can someone please clarify for the nooby here, thanks.
