Hello everyone!
I've just recently become seriously interested in Ethereum as an investment and a hobby and spent the last couple weeks researching hardcore for my first mining rig while letting my gaming PCs mine Ethereum in Windows 10 using a program / pool called Minergate. I wanted to share my all the parts I ordered for my rig to get feedback / advice about pitfalls I might experience as a first timer, but I also have some questions about how I can utilize my gaming PCs in a more efficient way to mine ETH while I'm sleeping.
First my ETH mining rig specs!
Open Air Frame: Flow 6.1 GPU Miner
Motherboard: ASRock H81 PRO BTC
GPUs (6x): ASUS ROG-STRIX-RX580
CPU: Intel Celeron G1840
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 80 GOLD 1200W
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 4GB
I probably went overboard on my first rig, and failed to min/max the cost vs potential output, but I'm planning to build at least one more depending on how this one goes. What do you guys think?
Lastly, I've been using Minergate on two PCs one with an Nvidia 1070 and the other with a 970. Been mining on average 16 hours a day over the last 3 weeks and have only accrued a measly 0.21000 ETC. I'd like to utilize these PCs to mine, but if there's not a better more cost effective way then I'm going to stop and turn them off when I'm not actively using them. What can I do?
Thanks in advance for your time!!
