I used to mine Bitcoin, litecoin, and then quark (lulz) but I've only recently learned of Ethereum. I see that GPU's are in full swing. Had I learned about this in September/October of 2016 I would have jumped on board, no problem. With summer coming up, I won't be able to mine. The temperature is too damn high!
So what's the outlook for mining? Is Ethereum "safe" from FPGA/ASIC? or is that right around the corner?
Is it still proof of work? What will happen when it switches to proof of stake?
