How transactions are contructed into a block?

Hi everyone

I am new to Ethereum. I feel little confused about the process of blockchain. My understanding is if one client sends some ethers to another client, the sender will produce a transaction, and it will broadcast the transaction into the network. The network is the P2P network formed by nodes, not the blockchain. Then, one node collects the transaction, and constructs a block by combing with other transactions. Then, the block is broadcasted. After a while, one node will mine this block. Then, all nodes will recompute the block for consensus. If the consensus passes, the block will be appended into the blockchain.

I think I have misunderstandings in the process. But I cannot find the official explain in detail.

Thanks
