Mining current Technology intel 1151 or AMD am4 socket(looking for alternatives to h81, h97, z97 MB)

Hi as many of you may have realized, finding 1150 motherboards with 6-7 pcie ports its getting really hard, most of them are already discontinued, so this means that we wont be able to build new rigs once that the shelves are empty. So what I want to ask, is if maybe someone has able to build a 6-7gpu mining rig using 1151 sockets (for me it didn't work) or maybe using AMD CPU. I even wonder why you never heard of amd based CPU rigs. Thank you in advance for your help. I'm really interested into investing this recent rally profits one a new ethereum rig but I don't like scalpers gouging the price on amazon (and as im outside USA its hard for me to buy in other stores)
