My findings about crashy Ubuntu 16.04 + AMDGPU-PRO setup.

As other threads have discussed, many of us are experiencing problems with newer AMDGPU-PRO drivers and Ubuntu 16.04. I've struggled specifically with desktop freezes that initially seemed to be correlated with temperature. However, at least in my case, I've found out the true cause:

While mining, a GPU will freeze after minutes or few hours of starting if and only if it is plugged into a x16 PCIe slot!

Now this might be an issue specific to my MB, so I'll leave my specs here:

- 3x RX470 4GB (mixed: XFX, MSI)
- 1x RX470 8GB (Saphire)
- USB risers
- MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard.
- Intel Pentium CPU
- 4GB RAM
- Ubuntu 16.04.1
- AMDGPU-PRO 16.40-348864

Meanwhile I'll keep on testing. I wonder if the newer driver is to blame, so I'll try the older driver version (16.30.xx) and see if this still happens. It took me a while to find it so I'll link to it here for anyone who's trying to roll back:

If anyone has ideas of why the x16 slots could be faulty it would be interesting to know.
